Mac n' Cheese
Delicious mac and cheese with bits of ham and broccoli baked to yummy perfection.
Ingredients
- 16 oz shell pasta
- 1 lb broccoli
- 1 ham steak, cubed
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp thyme
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
- 1/2 tsp ground mustard
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1/4 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 3 cups cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs & 1 tsp butter (combined)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400
- Cook pasta according to instructions, except 2 minutes before done add broccoli florrets
- melt 1/4 cup butter in saucepan, add flour, thyme, pepper, nutmeg, mustard. Whisk and cook for 3 minutes.
- Whisk in milk. Add in salt and worcestershire. Cook 8 minutes until thick
- turn off heat and add in 2 1/4 cups cheddar
- mix pasta and sauce in baking dish. Top with breadcrumbs and reserved cheddar
- bake 20 minutes
