Baked Penne

A twist on traditional spaghetti, using penne and whole sausage rings.

Ingredients

  • olive oil, as needed
  • 1 polish sauasge, sliced
  • 3 bell peppers, assorted colors, sliced
  • 16oz penne pasta
  • 32 oz store-bought tomato sauce or Grandpa Dave's Italian Red Sauce(without sweet sausage)
  • 8 oz shredded mozzerlla
  • 8 oz shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Cook pasta according to package instructions
  3. In skillet, brown sausage links in a bit of olive oil.
  4. Remove sausage links and put bell peppers in. Cook until soft and sweet.
  5. Add in spaghetti sauce and heat to a simmer
  6. in large baking dish, combine sausage and spaghetti/pepper mixture with cooked penne pasta
  7. Top with cheese and bake 20 minutes
